About localization

ESF Database Migration Toolkit uses a language configuration file to display GUI text. This configuration file format is same as INI file, you can open it by Notepad, Word or others document software. If you want to let ESF Database Migration Toolkit display your language, then just translate this file.

How to do it?

  • Goto <root>\Program Files\DBSofts\localization(or the folder you provided while installing).
  • Copy template.lan(a template configuation file contains english resource text) to a new file and rename to default.lan
  • Open default.lan via Notepad, then translate it.
  • in [Info] section, change CodePage to your country's code page or just delete 1252 if you do not know the code page number.
  • In [ResString] section, all items have a LEFT=RIGHT format, do not transfer the LEFT part, you just want to translate the RIGHT part to your language. e.g.: resAboutDlg=About ..., just translate "About ..." to your language.
  • DO NOT translate string parameters, e.g.: \r, \n, \t, %s, %d, %ld, %f or %lf.

Thank you!

If you had translated the language configuration file, it is very welcome that you can send a copy to me trans@dbsofts.com. Thank you!
